Adopt-A-Mater Bulletin: With Andy Gary at Marshpond Farmstead

Andy Gary adopted several varieties, including Grandfather Ashlock, Britain's Breakfast, Polish Linguisa, Maruskin's Andes, and Butler Skinner. Colleague Jennifer Mattern also added to Andy's farm stock with several splendid large hand-raised tomatoes as well.

Grandfather Ashlock is pulling out ahead in the growth department. Andy is using field grass hay for mulch in his corner gardens.

Since this is the first year that Andy has broken ground on the Farm, he laid his tomatoes in at his front fence corners for extra support and to maximize his planting area.

Andy's other corner garden, again with field hay mulch. You can see from the size of the rock left in front of this bed that Andy had quite an excavation chore to get these corners ready to plant.

Andy's foster tomatoes are looking lovely; it's obvious that he's finding time to lavish them with all of his gardening skills even though he's fighting the fight against bush honeysuckle with an electric-powered chainsaw!
